The ice and snow is gone and cascading waterfalls abound in Duluth and up the North Shore. We were thrilled with the roaring of Gooseberry Falls on a recent trip up the shore, only a 45 minute drive from Duluth. Spring is the best viewing time unless we get alot of rain. Other falls which require a little hiking, but are well worth the effort, are the High Falls on the Baptism River near Silver Bay and the Beaver River near Beaver Bay.
